There are works that don’t arise from a technical need, but from a story.
And when working on an object that carries a family connection, every choice requires care, respect, and balance.

In this case, the goal was to complete a historic wall sconce that had already been partially decorated years ago by the client’s father. A meaningful intervention, where the task was not simply to “finish” a job, but to find a balance between past and present.

From the very beginning, we chose not to replicate what had already been done.
An identical copy would have risked erasing the distinction between the two interventions, flattening the object’s history instead of enhancing it.

So we decided to create a complement capable of dialoguing with the original, while maintaining its own identity.

The new leaves were hand-shaped from galvanized sheet metal, crafted one by one to restore movement and lightness. They were then finished with oil painting, deliberately choosing a different style: a more contemporary, textured finish that is recognizable, one that does not imitate but accompanies.

The result is a subtle yet authentic balance.
A unique piece in which the work of yesterday and today coexist without overlapping.

It is precisely in these details that the value of a handcrafted intervention can be recognized: not only in the final result, but in the ability to listen to the object’s story and give it continuity, without ever forcing it.
