For this project (placed in a cooking school in Panzano in Chianti), we started from an old shop chest of drawers. The structure of the chest of drawers has been totally safeguarded, restoring it. We had columns of an old balustrade that were placed at the corners to create the largest structure in which to house appliances: two induction hobs and an oven. The part opposite the chest of drawers, is set up with a large compartment and a shelf, so as to have a space used as a pantry. The plan is made of colored OSB with a manganese tone. There are inserted elements in old sheet metal in the central part and on the small lift which, in addition to having a decorative function, holds the sockets for various tools. The hood is made of iron and zinc sheet.
Harmonization
All old and new elements must penetrate each other. To ensure that the final effect is that of an original counter in all its parts, it is essential that all the pieces are worked with the same technique as the original piece of furniture. For this reason, many of our work are done by hand with vintage tools. The final color is the result of various steps with different shades, then aged and patinated.
